What Does Your TPA Do?
The Tesseract Parents’ Association (TPA) is open to all Tesseract parents and provides opportunities for parents, teachers and administrators to work together. All Tesseract parents become members upon enrollment and are invited to become involved and to take part in any of the myriad of activities they sponsor. The school could not exist without the help of its parent volunteers. We also recognize that involvement in the school helps parents to become part of our community and clearly demonstrates the importance of education to their children. Volunteers enrich the learning environment of Tesseract through committees such as:
Community Service
Linking Tesseract to the community, the children learn how to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate, and in the process, acquire skills themselves!
Cultural Enrichment
Bringing the arts on campus, the children are inspired by gifted artists from the community.
Grade Potlucks
In the fall, the TPA also helps to organize potluck dinners for each grade. An adult-only gathering, it’s a great way to get to know the other parents in your child’s class!
Library
The Library Committee provides support and assistance to Miss Copeland and raises money for Tesseract’s book collection.
Room Representatives
The room representatives are an important liaison between the parents and teachers. They also encourage volunteerism within their classrooms.
Social Events
Bringing Tesseract families together, the Fall Family BBQ is a fun-filled event.
Sports Booster Club
The Sports Booster Club supports our after school interscholastic sports program and our Tesseract athletes. Sports Booster Club provides concessions during the games as well as sponsors the year end Sports Award Banquet.
Teacher Appreciation
Help us make sure that our extraordinary teachers feel appreciated with catered special lunches, birthday recognition and holiday parties.
Tesseract Ambassadors
Tesseract parents are one of our best marketing tools. These parent ambassadors help give their insights to prospective parents via tours, mentoring and other opportunities.
Tesseract Bloomers
The kids love getting their hands in the soil and watching their garden flourish. Many classes make meals from their produce they grow!
TPA Meetings
Open to all parents, the TPA meeting serves to organize and report on TPA activities. Four morning meetings will be held during the 2008-2009 school year.
Yearbook
A huge yet gratifying project run entirely by parent volunteers. It’s a wonderful memento your child will treasure.
