Director of Admissions
Tesseract School is seeking a dynamic and inspired leader to fill the position of director of admissions. Tesseract is in an exciting new phase of its development, with the recent opening of its new middle and upper school campus, with its inaugural ninth-grade class.
This position reports directly to the head of school. The director of admissions will partner with the head and a strong leadership team to help Tesseract School move into an exciting new phase of its institutional life and achieve its vision of becoming a premiere K-12 independent school in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Specifically, the director of admissions:
- Is responsible for the school’s total enrollment.
- Manages the program of admissions for new students, including presenting the school to prospective students and parents, handling applications and communication with applicants and their parents systematically and efficiently; interviewing applicants and their parents; arranging for admissions testing; securing necessary student credentials; and communicating final decisions to the appropriate individuals.
- Manages the re-enrollment of current students for the succeeding year.
- Oversees the admissions office, development of the admissions budget and, with the director of marketing, creation of appropriate admissions and marketing materials.
- Organizes and administers the Financial Aid Committee and the program for scholarships, assuring allocation of financial aid for best application as a tool in a net tuition revenue model.
- Represents the school at local, regional and national events and conferences.
- Cultivates relationships with the broader community (including businesses, organizations, consultants, parents, and alumni) to encourage referrals for admission.
- Facilitates, in collaboration with appropriate staff and faculty members, school events that benefit the community and the school as recruitment tools and retention initiatives.
- Maintains relevant statistics on all aspects of the admission and re-enrollment program.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the head of school.
- Supports the school and its leadership.
The director of admissions will have a high degree of autonomy while working as a member of a dynamic administrative team to build a strong EC-12 community.
Requirements
The successful candidate will:
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree
- Have significant experience in independent school (preferred but not a requirement) admissions;
- Be a strong communicator, both in oral and written communications;
- Be organized, detail oriented and goal driven;
- Be a strong leader but also excel at working as a member of a team;
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff

Early Childhood and Elementary Extended Day Educators
Tesseract School has immediate openings for extended day staff. These positions will oversee elementary and/or early childhood-age students during after school program hours (Monday-Thursday 2:30-6:00 p.m. and Friday 12:30-6:00 p.m.)
