The board of trustees is the primary governing body of Tesseract School and is composed of eight members, plus the Head of School serves as an ex officio member of the board of trustees.

The board is responsible for establishment of policy, the appointment of the Head of School and the preservation of the School's mission, finances, facilities, and programs. Its members work in concert to make decisions in the best interests of the School through the following committees and task forces:
