Parents

The Tesseract Parents’ Association (TPA) is open to all Tesseract parents and provides opportunities for parents, educators and administrators to work together to enrich the learning environment at Tesseract. The goal of the TPA is to support the school’s mission and to:

  • Cultivate close relationships between parents and the school
  • Assist parents with their orientation to the school and encourage their participation in school activities
  • Take an active role in the recruitment of qualified students for the school

To fulfill these objectives, the TPA sponsors many activities throughout the school year that benefit the students, faculty and parents in every grade.

The success of these activities depends on our parent volunteers.

So, we invite you to become involved in the TPA and to take part in any of the activities the TPA sponsors.

Tesseract Parents’ Association Volunteer Opportunities

The Tesseract Parents’ Association needs you! We are fortunate to have a group of highly skilled and energetic parents who make a huge contribution to the school, and we can always use more helping hands! You can get involved in any of the TPA Volunteer Committees by contacting a board member or committee chair person directly.

Volunteer Committees

Tesseract Ambassadors: Tesseract parents are one of our best marketing tools. Parent ambassadors help give their insights to prospective parents via tours, mentoring and other opportunities.

Tesseract Bloomers: The students love getting their hands in the soil and watching their gardens flourish. This gardening program needs parent volunteers to help with fun and educational class projects.

Tesseract Borders Book Day: Every November the TPA sponsors this event at the Borders book store located at Cactus Road in Paradise Valley/Phoenix. Twenty percent of all proceeds from books and other items purchased that day by Tesseract families and friends go to funding the library’s book collection.

Tesseract Classroom Representatives: Being a classroom representative is fun and a great way to meet other parents, get to know your child’s classmates and interact with the educators and administration. Representatives serve as an important liaison between parents and educators. In the fall, classroom representatives organize the potluck dinners for each grade. Each classroom usually has several representatives, so think about joining!

Tesseract Cultural Enrichment: Bringing the arts on campus, the children are inspired by personal visits from gifted artists in the community.

Tesseract Fall Family BBQ: This annual fun-filled event brings Tesseract families together and is enjoyed by all.

Tesseract Library Committee: The Library Committee provides assistance to the school librarian, encourages volunteer help at both the Doubletree and Shea campus libraries, gets book donations through the Wish List Program and raises money for Tesseract’s book collection.

Tesseract Performing Arts Booster Club: Tesseract puts on two major performing arts events each year - the Performing Arts “fun”raiser in the winter, and the middle school spring musical. Tesseract’s music and drama educator, Miss Terri, needs a lot of assistance with putting on these wonderful events. Volunteers are needed to help with decoration design and set-up, costumes, props, set designs and more.

Tesseract Sports Booster Club: The Sports Booster Club supports Tesseract’s after-school interscholastic sports program and our Tesseract athletes. Boosters provide concessions during the games and sponsor the year-end sports award banquet.

Tesseract Spring Gala: The spring Green-Tie Gala is Tesseract’s annual fundraiser. Joining the gala committee is a great opportunity to meet other Tesseract parents, share your time and talents and be part of creating a special event for Tesseract families and the community.

Tesseract Teacher Appreciation: The Teacher Appreciation Committee makes sure that our extraordinary educators feel appreciated with special catered lunches, birthday recognition and holiday parties.

Tesseract Tiger Annual Giving (TAG) Representatives: TAG representatives promote the Tesseract’s Tiger Annual Fund to Tesseract families. TAG Reps contact families via letters and phone calls to educate them about the annual fund and ask for their support. Representatives attend an orientation and training session, and have the support and guidance of the TAG representative committee chairs as well as the annual fund co-chairs and development staff.
