Parents

The Tesseract Parents’ Association (TPA) is open to all Tesseract parents and provides opportunities for parents, educators and administrators to work together to enrich the learning environment at Tesseract. The goal of the TPA is to support the school’s mission and to:

  • Cultivate close relationships between parents and the school
  • Assist parents with their orientation to the school and encourage their participation in school activities
  • Take an active role in the recruitment of qualified students for the school

To fulfill these objectives, the TPA sponsors many activities throughout the school year that benefit the students, faculty and parents in every grade.

The success of these activities depends on our parent volunteers.

So, we invite you to become involved in the TPA and to take part in any of the activities the TPA sponsors.

Tesseract Parents’ Association Volunteer Opportunities

The Tesseract Parents’ Association needs you! We are fortunate to have a group of highly skilled and energetic parents who make a huge contribution to the school, and we can always use more helping hands! You can get involved in any of the TPA Volunteer Committees by contacting a board member or committee chair person directly.

Volunteer Committees

Tesseract Beautification Committee - Shea Campus: Work together to create and implement ideas to improve the aesthetic appeal of the Shea campus.

Tesseract Bloomers Committee - Doubletree Campus:
Do you have a green thumb? Come help plant and grow the lower school garden. Volunteers will work with teachers and children in the garden. Parents will be involved in creating a theme, purchasing gardening items and assisting to plant and harvest the final product.

Tesseract Classroom Representatives: Classroom Representatives will assist the
educators in the classroom with class activities, and serve as a communication
liaison between the class parents and the educators, the Tesseract Parent Association and the school.

Community Relations Committee
This committee will help build community among the parents by supporting school
events, grade level concerts, Back to School Nights, open houses, etc. They will work
with admissions to help mentor new families as well.

Tesseract Cultural Enrichment: The TPA Cultural Enrichment Committee
works to bring a diverse array of local and national artists, authors, musicians, performers and speakers to Tesseract. These guests inspire and enrich the cultural experiences of students, and add depth to classroom. Volunteers will work with the educators to support curricula, assist in coordinating requested guests and identify and contact other potential guests. Additionally, volunteers will help to publicize Cultural Enrichment sponsored activities via signs on campus, communication with the Tesseract Community Relations Committee and communication with parents, educators and administrators.

Dads On Campus: Volunteers will help create and support events and activities geared towards Dads on campus.

Tesseract Faculty Appreciation: Volunteers will work to create and support
events to show appreciation for Tesseract educators and staff members

will bring the Tesseract community together for a day of fun activities, good food and
great memories.

Tesseract Library Committee: The Library Committee provides assistance
to the school librarian, encourages volunteers help in both the lower school and middle and upper school libraries, gets book donations through the Wish List program and raises money for Tesseract’s book collections, such as Scholastic Book Fairs.

lower school kindergarten through grade four lunch times. Volunteers guide children to make appropriate food choices, maintain a good eating environment, and assist children with any items that need opening. Time needed is approximately one hour.

the Arts” event, which takes place in January. Volunteers will work with Terri Scullin, Tesseract’smusic/drama educator, to arrange the details for the student and educator performances.

Tesseract Sports Booster Club: Volunteers support Tesseract’s after school
interscholastic sports program and Tesseract athletes. Volunteers work to provide concessions during the games and assist with the planning of the end of the year Sports Award Banquet.

Tesseract Annual Fund
This position is supported by the development offi ce and works to promote annual giving to our school’s operating budget to help support the arts, sports, teaching supplies, technology, campus upgrades and much more. Parent participation is also critical in our accreditation process when organizations evaluate school grant(s) contributions.
