Service Learning
At Tesseract, service learning is an integral part of the school's curriculum for students in all grades. Through Kids Who Care, Tesseract’s school-wide service-learning program, and Tesseract Action Force For You (TAFFY), students learn the importance of being an involved member of both the local and global community.
The Kids Who Care charities that Tesseract’s students and educators have selected expose students to a wide range of organizations, enabling them to develop a broad base of skills for problem solving and citizenship. Through Kids Who Care, students devote time to service-learning projects geared to their ages and their classroom curriculum, and for older students, their passions, such as making and delivering blankets to Crisis Nursery, keeping trails clean and preserved at the Phoenix Mountain Preserve or painting a mural at the Wesley Community Center, an organization with which Tesseract students have developed a unique and personal relationship.
