Library
The goal of our library program is to encourage Tesseract students to develop a love of reading, establish lifelong reading habits and develop the skills necessary to access and use information effectively and efficiently for success in the 21st century.
Incorporating the American Association of School Librarians’ Standards for 21st Century Learners, students are taught the skills needed to gather, interpret, use and evaluate information in all formats, including books, reference databases and online resources.
Middle school students visit the library for Writing Lab, where studies focus on research skills, copyright guidelines and Internet safety. All students work closely with Ms. Copeland, Tesseract's librarian, for assistance with research, like Tesseract's eighth-grade students, who meet with her to discuss their Individual Research Projects (IRP), the culminating project for all middle school students.
