Technology
At Tesseract School, we believe the use of technology in education should be incorporated with the curricular goals of the classroom, not focused on the technology itself. Supported by our IT specialists, educators are encouraged to integrate technology into their curriculum to enhance their teaching methods, cultivate student creativity, and enable students to become knowledgeable, successful users of information technology.
Online research and collaboration, Promethean and SMART Boards, PowerPoint presentations, word processing, podcasting and more are utilized throughout the lower school. Classrooms are equipped with installed projectors, as well as MacBook computers that are used during small-group work. There are also mobile wireless computer labs available for times when educators wish to have all students working on computers simultaneously. Incorporating the concept of collaboration with technology and communication, Tesseract lower school students work with Tesseract middle school students via a monitored online discussion board for various projects.
