TWO NEW MEMBERS APPOINTED TO
TESSERACT SCHOOL BOARD OF TRUSTEES
PARADISE VALLEY, ARIZONA—January 20, 2010—Tesseract School announced today that Tim Thomas and Dr. Ray Griffin Ed.D have been appointed to serve as members of the board of trustees of Tesseract School.
Thomas, vice president of Arizona Wholesale Supply Company, has served on Tesseract School’s Building and Grounds Committee for two years.
“It is exciting to be a part of—and to witness—the growth of this wonderful, innovative school,” said Thomas, whose son attends Tesseract. “Being part of the Buildings and Grounds Committee while the new middle and high school campus was being built, and now serving on the board, is a pleasure.”
The director of The Chinquapin School in Highlands, Texas, Griffin is an experienced leader in public, charter and independent school education, and looks forward to serving on the board for Tesseract School.
“I have been in education for most of my professional life,” stated Griffin. “I have taught and been an administrator at a variety of different schools, all of which have provided me with exceptional experiences. I am honored to now be a part of Tesseract School, a true leader in education in the Valley.”
When asked about the new board appointments, Nigel Taplin, Tesseract’s head of school commented, “We are all very pleased to have both Tim and Ray on our board. Tim’s perspective as a parent, and as a member of our Buildings and Grounds Committee during this period of growth, and Ray’s experience in and passion for education will further enrich our board.”
Thomas holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Arizona State University. He has been vice president of Arizona Wholesale Supply Company for more than 20 years, is the chairman of the board and chief operating officer of QDI Wireless, LLC and an honorary squadron commander at Luke Air Force Base.
Griffin holds a Bachelor of Arts in movement education from the Dominican College of San Rafael, a Master of Arts in educational administration from the University of New Mexico and a Doctorate of Education from the University of Washington College of Education. Previously Griffin served as the chief academic officer for the Denver Arts and Technology Academy, advisor for the
Yaxche School, head of school for the Desert Academy at Santa Fe, founder and principal of the Federal Way Public Academy, director of admission and financial Aid for the Annie Wright School, and as an educator at schools in New Mexico and California.
