Advocacy for each child is nurtured in our Advisory Program. Advisory teams meet several times a week, under the supervision of a classroom teacher, to address a wide range of social, emotional and academic issues. Emphasis is placed on making meaningful connections between student and advisor so that the advisor can best serve as the student’s advocate. Advisories are organized into teams to promote a sense of camaraderie and community. This sense of community is further reinforced during weekly, student led, middle school meetings.
In addition to providing guidance and support, upper school advisories will work as a group to develop and execute a community service project. An integral part of the Tesseract program, these meetings celebrate student accomplishments, develop leaders and provide a voice to student views, concerns and opinions relating to school issues.
