To individualize instruction, class size is kept small. Advocacy for each child is nurtured in our advisory program. Advisory teams meet several times a week under the supervision of a classroom teacher to address a wide range of social, emotional and academic issues. Emphasis is placed on making meaningful connections between student and advisor so the advisor can best serve as the student’s advocate. Advisories are organized into teams to promote a sense of camaraderie and community. This sense of community is further reinforced during weekly, student-led, middle school meetings. An integral part of Tesseract's program, these meetings celebrate student accomplishments, develop leaders and provide a voice to student views, concerns and opinions relating to school issues.
Parents play a vital supportive role in the education of their children. Communication between school and home is essential. Tesseract educators pride themselves on their openness and accessibility so that, as a Tesseract parent, you will have access to your child’s classroom assignments, announcements and grades online via Edline.
At Tesseract we believe that learning does not begin and end in the classroom. Whenever possible, we strive to connect student learning to the local or global community. The middle school regularly engages in local field trips and has established an annual interstate class trip in every middle school grade. Further, our students enrich their school experience through participation in our interscholastic athletics program, student government, peer mediation and performing arts.
Tesseract graduates are an identifiable group. Mature, confident, with an ability to accept challenges. And focused on finding and excelling at their dreams.
